Parenting can be difficult. This is especially true when your child is experiencing behavioral problems. Whether it’s problems within the parent-child relationship, academics, peer relationships, or difficulty managing emotions, I can help. Young children are unique in their experience of the world and the challenges they face. My experience in the Birth to Five field as well as working with individuals of all ages has provided me the opportunity to help families from many different backgrounds with a variety of problems.
I provide services including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person/Child Centered Therapies, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. My strengths-based, trauma-informed approach allows me the opportunity to meet individuals and families where they are and to help them feel supported on their healing journeys. This is my passion and life's mission.
You do not have to do this on your own. I can help you create a better tomorrow for you and your child.
A little side note about me is that I love spending my time with my family cooking and enjoying each other's company. I also enjoy reading and listening to music and taking care of my plants. Most of all, I love spending time in nature when the weather permits. I find with an open mind and an open heart, love and beauty are all around us.
Everyone’s journey in life is different. I want to create a safe place for you to express your needs and heal. My background includes working with children birth to five, adolescents, young adults, and families. We can work together to find new ways to manage stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and enhance parent-child relationships.
I am trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to improve the Parent-Child relationship and attachment. I provide services including Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, CBT, DBT, and EMDR. My strengths-based, trauma-informed approach allows me the opportunity to meet families where they are.
I have served our community over the past 20 years. I am committed to creating a safe therapeutic environment for individuals and families to strengthen their emotional well-being. My mission is to provide my clients the tools to enhance their relationships with others, have greater self-awareness, and help them feel supported on their healing journeys.
In my free time, I enjoy going on nature walks and road trips to explore our beautiful state. I like doing arts & crafts, playing board games, and collecting marbles and miniatures. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Since life is both a beautiful and challenging journey, sometimes we need a little guidance and support along the way. If you're feeling the weight of the world, and dealing with fears, worries, or past traumas, I'm here to help you rediscover your inner strength and find your joy.
I believe in the power of a person-centered approach, which means each session is tailored to your unique goals and needs. My experience extends to working with children and adults facing a diverse range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I understand the unique challenges young children and adolescents may face, and I'm here to help them, and you, navigate these formative years. I approach therapy with a trauma-informed lens, ensuring that your child feels safe and supported while we work through any difficulties they may be experiencing.
My specialized training includes the Birth to Five population, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed practices, attachment theory, and positive-parenting strategies. No matter what you're going through, I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey to emotional well-being.
When I am not at the office you will find me doing arts and crafts with my children, planning the next fun activity for my family, listening to audiobooks, watching movies, cooking/baking a new recipe with my children, or volunteering.
What we identify as the problems in our lives are typically symptoms of something deeper that needs attention. If you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, mood instability, stress, trauma, or personal relationships, it always comes back to the relationship you have with yourself. Our emotions provide information that helps us gain a better understanding of who we are and tune us into those things that are out of balance in our lives. For me, therapy is a healing journey intended to increase awareness, restore balance, and guide individuals toward the optimum version of who they can be.
One of my favorite quotes is from Peter Levine, – “trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), an essential part of my practice involves holding space and building resonance to allow for people to come into a deeper experience of who they are.
Other areas of specialization are teens and life transitions. Whether it’s divorce, going to college, a midlife crisis, empty nesters, or all of the struggles inherent in the life of a teenager, these are times when we need to redefine ourselves or define ourselves for the first time. These unique challenges provide us with enormous opportunities for growth.
I also enjoy many personal interests including reading, writing, acting, and spending time with close friends and family.
